Wranglers Roost
Wranglers Roost: subdivided in 1962 by Phoenix Title & Trust Company and is very similar to the Black Canyon Retreat neighborhood. (directly adjacent to, see the Black Canyon Retreat page). Wranglers Roost resort, within this neighborhood, was a stagecoach stop for a short time in the late 1800s. In 1930, Carl Jesse Myers (called himself Chief Myers) built WR in the 1930s as a dude ranch.
The original rock structure was added onto in the late 1960s and became a resort with a pool, hot tub, restaurant and some hotel accommodations. Currently there are 3 vacation rental homes and the resort holds events like weddings, corporate retreats, etc.
